josich An excellent melo death album. After listening Army of Gaia I'm ready for battle. An epic and amazingly well voice performanced album. Full of memorable melodies, mixing nostalgic moments with dark and itense landscapes. Flows smoothly like wind on the face riding a war horse. Favorite track: Starlit Shores.

THIS IS THE DIGIPAK CD VERSION OF AETHERIAN'S NEW ALBUM "AT STORM'S EDGE"

"At Storm's Edge" is the second full-length album of the melodic death metallers Aetherian, released on the 14th of July 2023 via Lifeforce Records. In melo-death circles, Aetherian's debut album "The Untamed Wilderness" (2017) is considered a surprise success and has convinced the fans that the quintet from Athens is equal to the Nordic scene greats like Insomnium, Dark Tranquillity and Omnium Gatherum. Listening to "At Storm's Edge", one notices that the band’s musicians individually act both more precisely and playfully. At the same time, the group’s sound is even more exciting and distinctive, especially the majestic melodic guitar leads, the driving drumming and the throaty growls. In the compositional area, Aetherian apply their storyteller approach variable and song-serving. Despite considerable playing times, the album's eight tracks come across as focused and urgent. Acoustic accents and a fine feeling for special atmospheres additionally distinguish the playing of the five Greeks. Aetherian, however, are not content with a spectator role on the sidelines, but pushes forward into the center in every respect and goes into full swing. "At Storm's Edge" was recorded at Devasoundz studios and produced by Fotis Benardo (Nightfall, ex- Septic Flesh). The painting used for the artwork is called “Les Fleurs du Mal” created by the French artist Yoann Lossel, while the new logo of the band was made by Christophe Szpajdel and signifies the start of a new era for Aetherian.

"The fires of war are once again upon us. The raging tempest always a step behind, remains unkind and full of wrath as we constantly struggle to outrun it. The passing of time is cruel, for many are left behind, forever residing in our memories. Our mother Gaia sheds tears for her children, for those bound by self-made bonds. When they escape, with sand, soil, stone or grass beneath their feet they will dance. Their songs shall give them the strength to overcome every fear, even as humanity stands on the very edge of the storm.

Army of Gaia 06:23
As the chasm grows deeper We are being thrown into the pit The indifferent watch with a grin Their apathy feeds our scars With weapons in hand We brave our fears No border divide us Army of Gaia RISE For justice, for freedom United we stand No nation defines us Army of Gaia rise for our home With wings from our mothers Roots from our fathers We march to our bitter end Stone cold discrimination Inequity brews our hatred Until our final breath We won’t rest Warriors of earth Army of Gaia Kindred hearts called to arms Army of Gaia Rise for our home Mankind’s conquest upon this earth Has brought suffering and loss Actions bereft of thought Violence beyond reason Death deprived of justice For those they will BURN Sons of earth and stars Daughters of moon's shadow Children of forest and lake RISE Army of Gaia RISE

Hear the ancient spirit’s croon The call of olden days Mythos, Epos, Saga Sign of the olden ways Hear the wail when shadow falls The elder poem weaves Mythos, Epos, Saga The sound when war begins So it begins Pagan tribes Cities of yore Words written In forgotten tongues Once again upon us ΠΥΡ ΑΕΝΑΟΝ Civilization Crumbles ΠΥΡ ΑΕΝΑΟΝ Once again in turmoil ΠΥΡ ΑΕΝΑΟΝ Legends were forged in fire On sacred anvil lost in time Empires rose and fell Tyrants and kings overthrown Women and men bled to their deaths Countless deeds disowned The statues broken Dismembered and sundered Countless names forlorn The stones tell stories Of battles and gods Of valor and ruin Of freedom and loss The markings our forefathers left Bear weight to the heart In river Acheron they have sailed To Hades and beyond

As the ocean turns to silent tomb As life withers A power has risen Dryads of the forest Show me the dance of the Satyrs Nereids of the sea Let me hear, the song the whales Creatures of the earth I summon you I call the trees to break from earthly binds I summon the human tribes To enter the fray I call upon the storm From Lethe, from slumber he awakens From the depths You are WE ARE The wolf that howls You are WE ARE The animal that bleeds You are WE ARE What echoes from below You are WE ARE The thunder in the night The wind mourns my name The stars abide by my fate I AM THE WARCHIEF The earth shall tremble by my voice Oreades protectors of mountains Imbue me with the soul of the hunt Naiads of the river Bless me with your fury

As he delves underneath Deep into the burrows Searching the foundations To unearth the stones Discovered the gates They pose a monumental task They stand unbreakable The stone’s marrow becomes apparent His quest remains futile As long as the essence Cannot be acquired A distant dream Calls for him To soar from the deep A distant dream Past the echoes of woe The lack of affinity adorns him He deems the harvest will never come His bereavement stemming From a rooted deprivation “I’ll find a way, my way I’ll free myself from this pain” He grabs his hammer Devotion in his eyes He raises his hand And strikes The light spreads across the darkened halls His wings now carry him from shore to shore The chains are broken, by feathers replaced A flight across the mountains and waves

Returning to the otherworld Many moons have passed All is different, yet the same The heralds of ill omens nowhere in sight None to urge for direction No false prophets exhorting the journey Closing the eyes Fading of mind The veil gets thinner Colours in the darkness Dance of the shade The breath of life Astral and divine Grasping the sense of the sacred way Through the emanating apparitions The outlandish and peculiar Becomes the evident From the elemental chaos Sprout the strings of the weave Shapes move and breathe Beyond the sphere of perception To the seeker they unravel The entrance appears Amidst the everchanging Lie unspoken words Amidst the symphony of radiant forms Lies boundless and infinite Another world Returning from the otherworld The passage was brief Nothing is different, yet all have changed

Soulriver 05:41
Cursed we who remember Blessed we who acquire wisdom We survive every fall Every unbearable though You, touched by sorrow and grief You, who felt the kiss You, shall find your river Free from earthly bonds And the river will flow To heal as you breathe And the river will flow To take and to give Cursed we who withdraw to dark Blessed we who forgive in light Perceive the source of discontent But frail is the choice You, who gaze the timeless wheel You, who never speak of the dream You, shall find your river Free from burden untold When the water stales When every light fades Demons lurk in the shadows Bound to escape Devouring the untouched Leaving debris and husks Cycle of death and rebirth The sound of the impending torrent Heralds the nightmare’s end And the river will flow Deluge and withdraw And the river will flow Submerged below

In a moment in time In the darkest of nights I saw the starlit sky Sharing with us its light Witnessed the constellations As they constantly shifted Reflecting on their faces The stories each one told From the ashes they rise From the cold winter nights Pain is gone The wounds remain To remind the sorrow they once felt Remember the path On starlit shores They dance around the fire In the moonless night They sing around the fire Tales of heathen past They dance around the fire In the moonless night They sing around the fire Tales beyond the stars In a moment in time In the darkest of nights Remember the path On starlit shores Forgetting every grief Every sorrow Cherishing the moments They have left Dawn will come soon The stars will fade Into the vast darkness A moonrise on silver sea One last song before the end
